The Chickens Were Nestled All Snug in Their Beds

When Tom and I first began dating seriously, we, like most smitten country couples decided to widen the circle of our togetherdom by purchasing a flock of chickens from our local country auction at Woodville. Eight years on, some of our hens have passed away and have long stopped laying eggs but have been cherished members of our fur and feathers family. This card (and others) are tributes to ....original names here... Grey Hen, Goldie, Whitey, Blackie-Brownie and Paprikash who came not from the auction but was saved from a Hungarian supper-pot.

Enough Winter Already

I think today is the last really really cold day for awhile. Next week we will be getting temperatures hovering around zero which is a little kinder for the spirit. I like to take the dogs for a walk every day around the farm, and because the snow has been too deep to walk comfortably, I've been cross-country skiing. Yesterday I felt like Scott trekking to the North Pole, with my team of huskies following daintily in my ski tracks behind. The wind chill was crazy...same for today! I have cranked my studio heater and done some work with these beautiful vintage digital stamps and some pastel paintings.

All You Need is Love

Wishing you all a very happy Valentine's Day; eat chocolate, go to the spa, have lunch with your friend, have dinner with your sweetheart.
This is my little sweetheart, Otis; I can't resist using him in my drawings and cards..he is too cute. I just had this image put on an iphone case so I can carry him around even when I'm away from home.

Thinking of Spring

I'm working on a line of stationery and cards with an old-fashioned theme; perhaps something my Grandmother would have liked to write a letter on. After doodling for several days, I came up with this pattern and colour scheme.

Monogram Cards

With the new year has come a bit of an urge to try some different things; one of these being monogrammed note cards. After watching a video a friend sent me on YouTube called "Zenspirations", I had to try my hand at it and wow do I love all the wonderful doodles and colours. If you have a favour colour palette you would like to see, just let me know.

The size of these cards are 4x5, just perfect for a quick thank you or little note to someone special.
